YouTube Music is rolling out labels for songs created primarily with generative artificial intelligence, according to the company’s October 14 announcement. Listeners can tap a label on the player page for information about how a track was made.
YouTube says it uses music-partner information and its own detection tools. Its partner guidance distinguishes fully generated work from recordings that combine generated elements with human contributions. Ordinary pitch correction is treated differently from generating a composition or vocals.
The company has also announced that the music labels will expand to the main YouTube app. It has not established that every account or recording already displays them. A disclosure describes production; it does not by itself establish ownership of a song or permission to reuse it. YouTube’s broader rules still apply.
