ESL FACEIT Group's November 23, 2022 review recorded Outsiders as IEM Rio Major champions after a 2–0 final win over Heroic. It described 12 days of competition and the first CS:GO Major in South America, with the Jeunesse Arena and a fan festival part of the event.
The 2–0 result is a map-series score, not the number of rounds won. In Counter-Strike tournament coverage, the series result, individual map scores and round totals answer different questions. Keeping those levels separate makes a final easier to interpret.

The same organizer announced a return to Brazil in 2023. That does not make the later event another edition of the 2022 Major or prove that every IEM tournament carries Major status. The event name, year and competition classification all belong in the record.
Cologne's 2021 competition is linked as a related historical example. Its significance included a return to in-person competition, while Rio's account focuses on a Major in a new region. This page preserves the completed Rio result rather than advertising expired tickets or presenting a live bracket.
