NewsCubby privacy notice

NewsCubby is operated by Tastic Consumer Brands, Inc. In this notice, “we” means Tastic Consumer Brands, Inc., the operator of the NewsCubby website and Apple and Android apps. NewsCubby’s public headlines do not require an account. If you create an account or request email updates, we keep only the information needed to provide the features and updates you choose.

Information you choose to send

Email submissions may include your address, message, and any information you voluntarily provide. Do not send passwords, payment information, government identifiers, or confidential material.

Email briefings

If you subscribe, NewsCubby stores your email address, confirmation status, selected briefing preferences, and delivery history. A confirmation step is required before regular delivery. Request-rate records use one-way hashes instead of raw network addresses. You may change your preferences or unsubscribe from every subscriber email.

Optional accounts

If you create a NewsCubby account, we store your email address, optional profile details, airport watchlist, saved flight numbers and departure dates, and the developing stories and alert choices you choose to follow. These choices sync between the website and signed-in mobile apps and can be removed from the Dashboard. Account sign-in uses email and password. Our authentication provider handles credentials; NewsCubby does not store plaintext passwords. You may request account or associated data deletion through our account deletion page.

Choices saved on your device

Without signing in, website preferences and airport watchlists may be saved in that browser and removed through the feature or browser settings. The NewsCubby mobile app stores saved stories on your device; uninstalling the app or clearing its data may remove them. Signed-in saved flights sync by flight number and departure date through your account. Flights saved in earlier app versions remain on your phone until you open the updated app while signed in, when they are copied to your account. Your first name, ZIP code, local-news preference and airport watchlist also use the same account as the website. An existing device airport list may be copied to your account on first sign-in if your account has no watched airports.

Flight-change notifications

Saving an upcoming flight turns on flight-change alerts automatically. You can pause alerts for individual flights in Manage alerts. For a monitored flight, we store its number, departure date, your alert choice, and recent changes. AeroDataBox receives the flight number to provide updates; we do not send it your name or email. Browser notifications require your permission and use a browser push endpoint and encryption keys stored with your account. Your browser’s notification service processes delivery. You can turn off an individual flight or browser notifications on the flight tracker; signing out stops that browser’s subscription. Recent flight-change history is retained for up to six days and is removed when you delete your account. Aircraft maps use OpenStreetMap, which receives your browser’s connection information and the aircraft’s reported coordinates when you open a map.

Optional weather emails

Weather email subscriptions are separate from news briefings. We store the email address, chosen ZIP code, alert level, confirmation and delivery records. Email confirmation is required before delivery begins or signup changes take effect. Use the preferences or unsubscribe link in each weather email to change or stop them. Resend processes delivery; bounced or complained-about addresses are suppressed. Weather emails match an approximate ZIP location and may be delayed.

Optional phone alerts

If you turn on notifications in the mobile app, NewsCubby stores a device push token and the alert topics you choose. Airport alerts also use your selected airport codes; severe weather alerts use the ZIP code you enter. Signed-in readers may also receive updates to stories they follow when they enable that choice. The device registration is associated with the account only while signed in. These choices are used to send the requested alerts, not for advertising. Expo and Google Firebase process the push token to deliver notifications. You can turn off alerts in the app, which removes that device registration, or block notifications in your phone settings. We keep a limited record of delivered event identifiers to avoid sending the same alert repeatedly.

Advertising in the mobile app

The mobile app may show clearly labeled ads supplied by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process device identifiers, IP address, ad interactions and other device information to deliver, limit and measure ads under their own privacy terms. NewsCubby requests nonpersonalized ads and does not send your saved stories, flights, airport watchlist or account profile to AdMob for targeting. Where required, the app asks for consent before requesting ads and provides ad privacy choices in Settings. On iOS, the app may ask for Apple tracking permission before Google can access the device advertising identifier for advertising measurement across apps; declining that permission does not prevent you from reading NewsCubby. You can change this permission in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking. If consent is not available, ads are disabled. See Google's advertising information for details.

Optional Google signup measurement

If you choose the optional Google Analytics checkbox when joining, we store the existing Analytics browser identifier, an available session identifier, your chosen language and your choice with a new account. After the email is confirmed, our server may send a sign_up event to Google Analytics. We do not send your name, email, password, authentication link, account ID, ZIP or saved interests in this event. You can stop a pending send in My account; a completed send cannot be recalled by that control. Browser identifiers are erased after a send attempt, withdrawal or expiry. Pending identifiers expire after seven days when the worker runs. A private receipt remains with the account to prevent repeats and is removed with account deletion. Declining does not affect account access. Measurement can be unavailable or incomplete and does not determine the actual member count.

Optional Meta ad measurement

If you allow ad measurement, Meta may receive browser cookie identifiers, browser device information and the time of an email-confirmed registration. We do not send your name, email address, password or authentication tokens to Meta. You can decline or change this choice using Ad measurement choices on public pages. Our own advertising report separately keeps fixed source and post labels for up to seven days in your browser and attaches them to your account when you register; privacy opt-outs are respected. Different devices or blocked storage can leave the source unknown.

Advertising on the website

NewsCubby.com may show advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may process IP address, browser or device information, cookies, and ad interactions to deliver, limit, secure, and measure advertising under their own privacy terms. Ads are not loaded for a signed-in account with active ad-free access. Where required, Google's consent controls apply before advertising is requested. See Google's advertising information.

Ad-free subscriptions

If you buy ad-free access, Stripe processes website payments and Google Play processes Android in-app payments. NewsCubby stores the payment provider, plan, subscription status, and current access end date with your account so advertising can be removed across signed-in NewsCubby experiences. NewsCubby does not store full payment-card details. Subscription purchases and billing management are also governed by the payment provider's privacy terms.

We do not sell your information

NewsCubby does not sell or rent your personal information. We use it to operate and secure NewsCubby and to provide the accounts, alerts and email updates you request.

Operational data

Hosting and security providers may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser or device details, and request logs to deliver and protect the website and mobile app. The app requests headlines, FAA alerts, public account configuration and ZIP-based weather from NewsCubby servers. If you sign in, our authentication provider receives your account credentials and the account details you choose to save. If you submit an email signup from the app, your email address and chosen briefing preferences are sent to NewsCubby for the requested subscription.

Account platform activity

When you use NewsCubby while signed in, we record whether you use the Android app, iPhone app, desktop website or mobile website, along with the first and most recent recorded use of each platform. Activity times update approximately every five minutes while open and active. For new accounts, we also record the registration source, including when an app opens the website registration form. Website device categories are estimates. These records help us understand use of our services and support members; they do not contain browsing history or device fingerprints and are not sent to advertising platforms. Access is restricted to NewsCubby administrators, and these records are removed when the account is deleted. Supported browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable this recording.

Signup campaign attribution

When you arrive through one of our labeled Facebook, Instagram, AppLovin or Google test ads, we remember the campaign and ad label in the same browser tab for up to 7 days. If you create an account in that tab, we save those labels with the account to compare new registrations and confirmed emails. We do not retain the full referring URL or advertising click ID for this report, and we do not send your account details to advertising platforms through this attribution. Supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable this attribution. Closing the tab or using another device may prevent attribution.

For labeled advertising visits, we also measure visits to our public home, news, video, weather and travel pages, visits lasting at least 30 visible seconds, and clicks to account access, public features, publisher stories and the NewsCubby Google Play listing using Vercel Analytics. A Google Play click is not proof of an app installation. Third-party campaign custom events do not run on account, admin or email-confirmation pages. Separately, our own signup report records fixed step labels: opening or starting the signup form, submitting it, an accepted response, and a general error category. It never records what you enter. An accepted response is not counted as a new account. Confirmed accounts are measured from our account records. Custom events include only configured campaign labels and fixed action categories, not article titles, clicked URLs, email addresses or form contents. Supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable these custom events. This measurement is separate from any advertising platform’s own reports. Our own visit and signup-step report uses a random browser-tab identifier that rotates after 30 minutes and is not linked to an account. Step records, broad device categories and server receipt times are deleted after 30 days. Development previews and browsers marked as internal after visiting administration pages are excluded. The internal-browser marker lasts up to one year. Supported privacy opt-outs disable this measurement. A labeled Google Play link may carry only the configured campaign and ad labels into the store; a supported Android release can read the install referrer when opening account signup. Clicks, store acquisitions, and signed-in app use are separate measurements.

Individual post and ad measurement

Each registered promotional link can carry a random post or ad identifier. We remember it with the campaign labels in the same browser tab for up to seven days and save the latest recorded identifier with a new account to compare registrations, confirmed emails and subsequent platform use. Closing the tab or using another device may prevent attribution. Our private publishing registry maps the identifier to the public post name, platform and destination; customer details are not included in these links. We send the identifier, configured campaign labels and fixed public-page categories to Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, not your name, email, form contents, search queries or private account URLs. Supported browser privacy opt-outs disable this measurement.

For visits without recognized campaign labels, our first-party report may record a broad referring-platform category, such as Facebook, X, YouTube, Google or another website. We do not retain the full referring URL, its path or query. The visit category stays with a random 30-minute browser-tab identifier. If you register during that session, the category and capture time may be saved with the new account; the browser-tab identifier is not copied into the account. It cannot establish the individual post, whether the referral was paid, or the visitor’s identity. These visit records are deleted after 30 days. Following a promotional redirect alone is not counted as a customer visit.

Audience and performance measurement

NewsCubby uses privacy-focused, first-party measurement to understand page traffic and Core Web Vitals. Google Analytics runs only on our production website for eligible public pages. We send fixed public-page categories and configured campaign labels, without search queries, private URLs or form contents. Preview sites, marked internal browsers and supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals are excluded. Google’s privacy practices also apply. Blocking measurement does not prevent using NewsCubby.

Optional Facebook ad measurement

With your permission, the Meta Pixel measures visits to our public home and video pages, video-page views, and visits lasting at least 30 seconds while the page is visible. Meta may receive the public page URL, IP address, browser or device information, and advertising cookies. We do not send your email address, account details, saved flights or form contents through this integration. Measurement stays off until you choose Allow measurement and does not run on account, payment, admin, health or email-confirmation pages. You can decline or change your choice using Ad measurement choices on the home or video pages. We honor supported browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. See Meta’s privacy policy.

Email service providers

NewsCubby uses Resend to deliver requested emails and to report delivery, bounce, and complaint events. Suppression records are retained as needed to honor opt-outs and protect recipients.

Account confirmation reminders

If you create an account and have not confirmed your email, we may request confirmation reminders at 30 minutes, 90 minutes, 4 hours, and 24 hours after signup. Checks run every five minutes, and reminders stop after confirmation. We retain reminder request times and outcomes with your account to prevent duplicate requests and troubleshoot confirmation. These reminders use our existing authentication email provider. Acceptance of an email request does not establish inbox delivery or that the email was read.

Optional market chart

The Business page offers a TradingView chart. It loads only after you choose “Load market chart.” When loaded, your browser connects directly to TradingView, which may receive your IP address, browser details, the NewsCubby page URL, and the symbol shown. TradingView’s privacy policy applies to its widget. NewsCubby does not receive your chart searches or market data from TradingView.

Missing-page diagnostics

When enabled, missing-page diagnostics count a limited set of public article-like addresses and broad referral categories by day. These counts do not include account or browser identifiers, query strings, full referrers, or network addresses. Private, token-like and unsupported addresses are excluded, as are supported Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals and browsers marked for internal use. Counts are capped and do not represent unique people. Days older than 30 days are removed when the next eligible report is recorded.

Article signup invitations

If you follow an article’s invitation to join, we may record its article type, invitation language, button position and click time in that browser tab and use those labels for signup attribution for up to 30 minutes. When you create an account during that time, these labels may be stored with the account so we can count registrations and later email confirmations. This feature does not store the article’s address or title. Any available original campaign or post label is kept separately. Supported Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and internal-browser exclusions apply. These reporting labels are removed with account deletion.

Separately, our private first-party report counts invitation clicks whether or not an account is created, using fixed article-type, invitation-language and button-position labels with any original campaign or post label. It uses the existing random 30-minute browser-tab identifier, which is not copied into your account. Click records are deleted after 30 days. Repeated clicks in the same session and reporting category count once.

External publisher links

NewsCubby links to independent websites. Their privacy practices apply after you leave NewsCubby.

NewsCubby Videos

When you choose a video, Cloudflare Stream delivers it to your browser or app and processes technical connection and playback information needed to deliver and measure the video, including your IP address and device information. We use aggregate storage and playback totals to manage the service. The collection does not automatically play videos. New-video phone notifications are optional, start turned off, and can be changed in the app’s Settings. We store your chosen setting and when you opted in so older videos do not trigger new alerts.
