How we produce and present our articles
Clear sources, honest bylines and useful context guide our work. These standards apply to NewsCubby articles and distinguish them from the outside headlines we help readers discover.
AI-assisted, publication-accountable
AI-assisted tools can support research, drafting, organization and translation. NewsCubby remains responsible for the material it publishes. The standard is to verify material claims against the cited sources before publication; AI-generated text and citations are not proof.
Bylines describe responsibility
Articles identify a named contributor or NewsCubby Editorial Desk. Joshua Kaplan contributes with AI assistance and is the publisher and editorial contact. A desk byline identifies NewsCubby as the responsible publication; it does not imply a team of on-location reporters. Do not attribute interviews, personal expertise or firsthand observations that did not occur.
Useful original explanation
NewsCubby articles should add useful context, explanation or analysis instead of merely replacing words in someone else’s report. Distinguish confirmed facts, attributed reporting, allegations, interpretation and uncertainty. A short update can be appropriate; extra length alone is not added value.
Dates and updates
Identify when the event happened, when the source released its information, and when our article was published or updated. An old event must not appear to be new because it is shared again. Preserve the original article address and publication date when making a correction or update.
Publisher headlines remain distinct
Our headline collection identifies outside publishers and links directly to their reporting. People approve sources after reviewing identity, feed ownership, reuse terms, attribution and technical behavior. Approved sources may supply validated headline-and-link records automatically. Descriptions, images, logos and full text require separate authorization.
Photographs and other media
Use images only when the intended use is permitted. Keep the creator, source, license or permission evidence, and any required credit. Label archive photographs, illustrations and AI-generated media so they are not mistaken for evidence of a current event. Credit alone does not grant permission.
Language and translations
Spanish versions are automatically translated from English and labeled accordingly. The English article is the reference version. Readers can report a translation problem through the same corrections process. An incomplete or outdated translation should not be promoted as a current Spanish article.
Editorial decisions and funding
People control featured coverage and breaking-news placement. Source inclusion does not imply endorsement of a publisher or viewpoint, and worldwide coverage is not limited to the operator’s location. Advertising and paid access support the service; sponsored material must be labeled and kept distinct from independent editorial selection.
Corrections and accountability
Readers and publishers can report factual errors, broken links, translation problems, attribution concerns or rights issues. Include the article URL, the specific concern and supporting material. NewsCubby reviews the request and, when a correction is warranted, updates the article and explains material changes.
