AI and human review

How NewsCubby uses AI

AI tools assist NewsCubby. People remain responsible for what the publication publishes.

Original articles are reviewed by a person

AI tools can help with research, drafting, organization and translation. A person reviews an original article before it is published. Material claims are checked against the sources listed at the bottom of the article. Text or citations produced by an AI tool are not treated as evidence. NewsCubby does not invent interviews, eyewitness reporting or personal expertise.

What a byline means

A personal byline, such as Joshua Kaplan, names the contributor. Joshua Kaplan is the publisher and editorial contact and contributes to AI-assisted articles. NewsCubby Newsroom and NewsCubby Editorial Desk are desk bylines. A desk byline means the publication is responsible. It does not mean a team of reporters was at the scene.

Headlines that link to other publishers

A separate collection lists headlines from sources people have approved. Each item links to the original publisher. NewsCubby does not present those headlines as its own reporting and does not republish the publisher's full article. Approval includes the source's identity, feed ownership, reuse terms, attribution and technical behavior.

Spanish translations

Spanish versions of NewsCubby articles are translated automatically from English and labeled as translations. The English article is the editorial reference. A translation problem can be reported through the corrections process.

Article photographs

Photographs on NewsCubby articles are credited images with a recorded creator, source and license. That includes freely licensed and public-domain images. Archive and illustrative images are labeled so they are not mistaken for a photograph of the current event. An AI-generated image is not used as proof that an event happened. The caption and the sources list show the credit.

AI presenters

NewsCubby news videos use a fictional AI presenter and say so in the video description. Published news videos identify Alex Bennett as that presenter and state that the presenter is not reporting from the location. Manilla DeNews is a separate AI host for staged comedy, and that collection says so. Spanish video editions currently use English audio with Spanish subtitles and a Spanish cover. They are not described as a Spanish dub.
